Aerobatic Instruction

Both our Stearman and the Citabria are equipped with inverted fuel and oil systems for aerobatic instruction. Loops, rolls, hammerheads and Cuban eights are some of the maneuvers that are taught.

Spin Training

Our spin course covers normal, aggravated and accelerated spins with entries from unusual and normal attitudes. Early recognition and freezing of the incipient spin is emphasized.

Mountain Flying

Our training facilities are located minutes from the Olympic Mountain range. Experience the exhilaration of mountain/glacier flying operations around beautiful canvasses such as Mount Olympus and the Blue Glacier. Explore the Hoh river Valley and Hoh rain forest. 

Primary and Tail wheel Instruction

Learn to fly on the beautiful Olympic Peninsula.  We train at the wide-open Port Angeles Fairchild airport (KCLM). Training time and dollars are maximized, no long waits for take off clearance while strings of jets make long finals. Multiple touch and go's in one runway pass maximize training time and increase skill at landings from unusual aproaches.

The Citabria makes an excellent primary and tail wheel transition trainer. Learn full stall and wheel landings, master the art of 180° slips to landing. Practice simulated engine out procedures from various directions and angles to any one of KCLM’s four runways. Students that train in a tail-drager utilizing our advanced airmanship techniques are safer pilots, better able to deal emergencies such as engine failures, wind shear or wake turbulence encounters.

Instrument Instruction

Learn instrument flying from a pilot with 20+ years of real world instrument flying experience in operations ranging from world wide aircraft delievery, Alaskan 135 OAS ops, single pilot 135 cargo & charter, 121 cargo & passenger operations and 135 jet charter.

Motion Picture Services

Our Stearman has a long history of work in the film industry; it has been utilized in feature motion pictures such as Independence Day and Sunset as well as a number of Commercials and Music videos.  Whether it be small digital cameras or a large imax camera our large variety of camera mounts can be quickly installed on numerous points on the airframe. It can be quickly converted from a two cockpit configuration to a single cockpit crop duster configuration.

We maintain an FAA approved Motion Picture operations manual and the Stearman is licensed in dual categories, both standard and restricted motion picture category.
